The Barton County Sheriff's Office is seeking motivated individuals to serve as Part-Time Detention Officers. This position is responsible for ensuring the care, safety, and security of inmates housed within the Barton County Jail. Duties include processing and searching inmates, conducting cell checks, maintaining facility cleanliness, distributing meals and prescribed medications, providing hygiene supplies, and transporting inmates to and from court proceedings and other facilities.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid driver's license, and be able to successfully pass a background investigation.
The Barton County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for the position of Road Deputy. This position provides law enforcement services throughout Barton County and is responsible for protecting the community, enforcing laws, responding to calls for service, conducting investigations, and maintaining public safety.
Applicants must be P.O.S.T. Certified in the State of Missouri and at least 21 years of age. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, sound judgment, professionalism, and a commitment to serving and protecting the citizens of Barton County.
The Barton County Sheriff's Office offers a competitive benefits package including a take-home vehicle, 10-hour shifts on a 4-days-on/3-days-off schedule, paid training, department-issued equipment and firearms, 13 paid holidays, paid employee insurance eligibility after 30 days of employment, and participation in retirement benefits through CERF and a 401(k) plan. Starting pay is based on experience.
The County of Barton is looking for an operator with previous experience in road, bridge, highway maintenance or related construction experience in order to successfully execute repair and regular maintenance to County bridges, culverts and roadways.
A High School diploma or GED are required, and two years of relatable job experience are preferred. A valid driver’s license and a CDL (or willingness to obtain a CDL) are also required.
Candidates must possess the ability to receive and carry out specific demonstrated, written, and oral instructions in order to successfully complete jobs. Good communication skills and a professional attitude are a must.
Operate county road maintenance equipment (tractors, dozers, loaders, heavy trucks, etc.) and assist with regular equipment maintenance
